PROJECT

In 2018, we partnered with the Schwartz-Reisman JCC to create a series of short animated documentaries exploring the personal histories of Jewish immigrants to Canada.

Over the course of two months, a series of group and individual interviews were conducted with Jewish seniors who had immigrated to Canada from countries around the world, including Argentina, China, France, Israel, Morocco, South Africa, Ukraine, and Venezuela. We explored themes of home, Jewish community and culture, displacement, and new traditions. These interviews formed the basis for the four-part documentary, animated with images and documents provided by storytellers as well as the Ontario Jewish Archives.
