FIXT POINT is seeking two professional media artist familiar Oakville for a full-time position with The Tale of a Town presented in partnership with The Town of Oakville this summer!
FIXT POINT’s The Tale of a Town project is a national oral history and theatre project that celebrates the culture and heritage of Canada’s downtowns through the gathering, mapping and theatrical presentation of our living memories of main streets across Canada. These collected memories are presented back to the community through interactive performance installations, podcasts, and through our digital Storymap.
Position: Storygathering Artist
Artist Fee: Based on Experienced
Dates: June 6th - June 19th, 2016 in Oakville
Mandatory 3-Day Training: Between Tuesday, May 31st and Friday, June 3 in Toronto
Must be outgoing, creative, reliable, motivated and passionate about storytelling, community engagement and all things local. The position we are looking to fill requires a combination of interviewing local community members and artistic audio editing.
Experience with sound editing; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, ProTools, Photoshop and video editing are assets, as well as bilingualism (French/English), and an Ontario driver’s license.
